Movies! Movies! Movies!

First of all-I love movies. I always have. There is something thrilling about sitting in a darkened theater and being swept away by what is on the screen. The whole process of movie making-the written screenplay, the costumes, the actors, the director, the lighting and sound people-come together to make this one piece of art. Movies are such an accessible artform. You don't have to have any kind of degree or diploma to be able to watch a movie. Anyone can watch a movie. These days, anyone can watch a movie anywhere, anytime. Being such a cinephile, I take the opportunity to see as many movies as I can. I cannot help it. Don't get me wrong, I don't spend all day watching movie after movie after movie but I do love to watch films. I don't think I am a movie snob either. I like everything from Citizen Kane all the way to Young Einstein. You can't be a movie snob if you still laugh at Young Einstein! But don't tell anyone that I like that movie. I'll deny it! ;-) My friends always ask me what my favorite movies are and I honestly cannot pick one single favorite. I can give favorites from different genres but I simply cannot pinpoint that definitive favorite. With that in mind, I've decided that a movie blog would be a really fun project. I get to blog about movies and I get to see what you think about them in turn. This should be fun!
